On August 18, 2026, 6 containers containing Hai Long steel components were just transported to the seaport, beginning a journey of over 10,000km to Senegal — Hai Long's first stop in the West African market.
The shipment belongs to the Piperack D package of the LNG Elton project, consisting of steel structure and connecting bolts. All components were fabricated and packed according to technical standards, and inspected before being loaded into containers and transported by sea.
LNG Elton is a project implemented by Gas Entec Co., Ltd (South Korea) to build the Dakar LNG Terminal — the first and largest LNG import facility in West Africa, providing natural gas to a 300MW combined-cycle power plant in Cap des Biches, the largest power plant in Senegal. In this project, Hai Long is responsible for producing the Piperack system for the electromechanical pipelines operating the terminal station, aiming for operation in the first half of 2027. This is not the first project Hai Long has executed with international standards. Previously, Hai Long steel structures have been present in South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia — markets that are notoriously difficult for new suppliers. This shipment to Senegal is the latest result of a methodical investment in production technology and quality control.
